In November of 2002, I penned an article which was published in the Christian-Life Times called “The Coming World Economic Collapse”! The article was not based upon any great knowledge that I possess about the world financial markets, the stock markets or international trade. I have none! But rather, the observations and conclusions expressed in the article were based upon Bible prophecy contained in the unerring, unfailing Word of the Living God. Click Here to see the original article! This follow-up is intended to underscore the truth and accuracy of the scriptures, and to highlight there relevance to the world today. I won’t repeat the content of the first article, important as it may be, because you can read it for yourself. Rather, I would like to write about historic events that we are seeing on the world stage that have profound implications for our lives today, and to focus again on the prophetic utterances of scripture. As I write this, the stock market fell another 675 points or so, for a total loss so far this week of somewhere near 1600 points, bringing the DOW to under 9000 for the first time in over 5 years. There is no end in sight. Many will say that, yes, the market free fall is mind boggling, but the market has fallen many times before, and we alwaus survived. True enough, but there is something very different this time. Over the last few decades, with the advent of the Internet, all of the worlds financial markets are forever linked together. What effects the US stock markets also effects the stock markets and the economies of Japan, China, Russia, the European markets; virtually all the markets and economies of every nation on Earth. The current economic meltdown that we are experiencing is global, for the first time in history. Bible prophecy paints a picture of a world in global meltdown and with hyper inflation at the end of the generation that will witness the culmination of human history as we now know it, the events of the “Last Days”, and the return of Jesus, the Messiah to planet Earth! (see the original article) Sound like a fairy tale? Have you been watching the evening news or reading your newspaper! Is what we are seeing the prophetic end time events of scripture?? I don’t know. No one knows for sure. However, it very well could be. If it is not, it WILL occur sometime soon. These same scriptures describe rapidly deteriorating world conditions during this time period. Strange and severe weather patterns, pestilence and disease, social & political unrest, wars and talk of war, news about terrible earthquakes, with the nation of Israel and the Middle East the focal point of world attention. Conditions, we are told, become almost unbearable, and just when it seems that all is lost, and there is no hope, a man will come upon the world stage who will appear to have the answers to all the worlds woes. The Bible calls him Antichrist. He will be embraced as a peacemaker, but he will make war with Israel and cause World War III. He will declare a one world religion, and cause any that do not embrace it to be put to death. He will cause all the worlds peoples to accept a global financial system, and require a “mark”, perhaps an embedded micro chip some say, in order to buy or sell anything. The Bible gives much information about what will occur just prior to the physical return of the Lord Jesus, and the destruction of evil. Friends, the time could be very short before all of these things come to pass. What becomes of us before, during and after these events, or should we die during them, is determined by our personal relationship with Messiah. Only those who have put their trust in the Lord can escape the wrath upon evil that will befall the world. As I stated previously, I don’t know for certain that what is taking place is the beginning of the end of days, but are you willing to take that chance? I urge you, no I beg you, to open the Bible and read about these things yourself. See first hand what God expects of you, and what is required to become a child of God. It’s not what you DO, but what you BELIEVE, and where you place your faith. In the days ahead, watch for more prophetic events, foretold in scripture, to unfold, and keep your eye on the nation of Israel . . . God’s prophetic timepiece!
